Tips & Best Practices
Keep It Short
MOTDs have a 59-character limit per line (including color codes). Keep messages concise and impactful.
Use Contrast
Choose colors that contrast well for readability. Avoid dark colors on dark backgrounds.
Test Before Deploying
Always preview your MOTD in-game before making it permanent. Some clients may display colors differently.
Update Regularly
Keep your MOTD fresh with seasonal themes, events, or announcements to maintain player interest.
Include Key Info
Use MOTD to display important server info like game mode, version, website, or Discord link.
Don't Overuse Formatting
Too many colors and effects can make your MOTD hard to read. Use formatting sparingly for emphasis.
