Minecraft Version Mismatch
This guide helps you fix Minecraft version mismatch errors. These occur when your client and server versions don’t match.

How to Check Server Version
Section titled “How to Check Server Version”The server shows its version when it starts. Check the console:

Section titled “Using the Panel”- Go to your server in the control panel
- Click Startup or Settings
- Find the Minecraft Version or Server Jar option
- Select your desired version
- Click Save
- Reinstall or Restart the server (depending on your panel)
Common Server Types

How to Change Client Version
Section titled “How to Change Client Version”Vanilla Minecraft (Official Launcher)
Section titled “Vanilla Minecraft (Official Launcher)”- Open the Minecraft Launcher
- Click Installations tab
- Click New Installation
- Select the version that matches your server
- Click Create
- Select the new installation and click Play
With Forge
Section titled “With Forge”- Download Forge for your target version from files.minecraftforge.net
- Run the installer
- Select “Install Client”
- Open the Minecraft Launcher
- Select the Forge installation
- Click Play
With Fabric
Section titled “With Fabric”- Download Fabric Installer from fabricmc.net
- Run the installer
- Select your target Minecraft version
- Click Install
- Open the Minecraft Launcher
- Select the Fabric installation
- Click Play
Modded Servers: Extra Steps

How to Match Modded Versions
Section titled “How to Match Modded Versions”- Check your server’s
modsfolder for mod versions - Ensure client has the exact same mod files
- Check loader version (Forge/Fabric) matches exactly
- Some mods are “server-side only” — check mod documentation
Bedrock vs Java
Section titled “Bedrock vs Java”Minecraft Java and Bedrock are completely different and cannot connect to each other directly.
