  1. Go to your server in the panel
  2. Look for Artifact Version or FXServer Version in settings
  3. Note the build number (e.g., 7290)

When your server starts, it shows:

[ c-scripting-core] Creating script environments for mythic_notify
FXServer version: 7290

Check the official FiveM artifacts page for the latest stable versions:

  • Recommended: Use artifacts from the last 30 days
  • Avoid: Very old artifacts (6+ months) may have compatibility issues

  1. Go to your server in the control panel
  2. Find Startup or Configuration settings
  3. Look for Artifact Version or FXServer Build
  4. Select a newer version from the dropdown
  5. Click Save
  6. Reinstall or Restart the server

If your panel doesn’t have artifact selection:

  1. Go to runtime.fivem.net/artifacts/fivem/
  2. Download the latest recommended build for your OS
  3. Extract files to your server directory
  4. Restart the server

The sv_enforceGameBuild convar controls which GTA V version players must have.

If you’re a player trying to connect:

  1. Close FiveM completely
  2. Open FiveM again — it auto-updates
  3. If stuck, delete FiveM cache:
    • Go to %localappdata%\FiveM\FiveM.app\data\cache
    • Delete everything in this folder
    • Restart FiveM
  1. Open Steam/Rockstar Launcher
  2. Verify game files or let it update
  3. Launch GTA V once to complete any updates
  4. Try FiveM again
  1. Open FiveM
  2. Press F8 to open console
  3. Type connect localhost and press Enter (this will fail, that’s okay)
  4. Close FiveM
  5. Go to %localappdata%\FiveM\FiveM.app\data\cache
  6. Delete the priv folder
  7. Restart FiveM

  1. Ensure the server is fully stopped (not just restarted)
  2. Check that the new artifact files actually replaced the old ones
  3. Look for file permission errors in the console
  1. Check the console for specific errors
  2. Common causes:
    • Resources incompatible with new artifact
    • Missing dependencies in new artifact
    • Corrupted download
  3. Try rolling back to the previous artifact version

Some resources may need updates for newer artifacts:

  1. Check resource documentation for artifact requirements
  2. Update resources from their original sources
  3. Check for resource updates on the FiveM forum

Scenario 1: “My players can’t connect after GTA update”

Section titled “Scenario 1: “My players can’t connect after GTA update””

GTA V updated, but your server is on an older game build.

Fix:

  1. Update sv_enforceGameBuild to the new build number
  2. Or wait — FiveM usually releases compatible artifacts within days

Scenario 2: “Server worked yesterday, broken today”

Section titled “Scenario 2: “Server worked yesterday, broken today””

Likely an automatic artifact update or GTA update.

Fix:

  1. Check if GTA V updated recently
  2. Try rolling back to the previous artifact version
  3. Update sv_enforceGameBuild if needed

Scenario 3: “Some players can connect, others can’t”

Section titled “Scenario 3: “Some players can connect, others can’t””

Players have different GTA V versions.

Fix:

  1. Tell affected players to update GTA V
  2. Or lower your sv_enforceGameBuild for broader compatibility
